Roger Graef is a writer, filmmaker, broadcaster and criminologist recognized as one of Britain's leading television documentary-makers. Often using 'fly-on-the-wall' techniques, he is particularly renowned for his documentaries involving police forces and issues of criminality, as well as a focus on youth and children's issues. Among his more than eighty films, he is best known for his pioneering work in gaining access to hitherto closed institutions ranging from ministries and boardrooms to police, courts, prisons, probation and social work.

Roger won a BAFTA in 2003 as the producer of the Flaherty Best Documentary, 'Feltham Sings!' In 2004 he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship to the British Academy of Film and Television, again for his outstanding contribution and achievements. He was awarded the O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2006 Queen's New Year's Honours List for his services to the film industry.
